Two weekends ago we set off to Warrnambool to visit Amanda & Tim. It was the first day of Mark's three weeks of holidays so we were all excited to be going away!
We stopped for lunch at Lake Colac and the kids had a play on the playground.
The lake was completely dry, which is quite sad. It was so strange seeing this jetty leading to a paddock!!
Once we arrived at Mandy & Tim's we decided to go for a walk. From their house you can walk along the river to the beach. Ella was so excited to see Mandy as you can see from the grin on her face in this photo!
Of course the kids wanted to have a little dip in the water. But what started as just dip your toes in quickly ended in fully swimming clothes and all!!
They really can't help themselves they just love the water and it's really hard to keep them out!!
They weren't too happy when they had to walk the whole way home soaking wet and covered in sand!
After the kids dried off we headed to Lake Pertobe for a BBQ dinner. E just loves the Flying Fox in the playground at Lake Pertobe so there was no guessing where he would be heading while the BBQ was cooking!!

There was also a small carnival going on so the kids got to choose a ride to go on - the both chose the Dodgem Cars which was good because then Mark & Tim got to have a play too!
Sunday we spent the day at the Warrnambool Surf Club. E just loves body boarding and the beaches around home don't really have waves so he was so excited to be able to get out amongst the waves!
This one's for you Leah! Tim is Canadian and when I saw his towel, I thought of you!
That evening we went for a walk along Logan's Beach. I love these photos which were taken at sunset.
Later that night we went to the Flagstaff Hill Shipwrecked Light & Laser Show. Tim works there so it was good to go and see what he does (although he doesn't want the photos we took of him put on here!!). The show was awesome - it was like a movie coming out of the water. The kids were a little scared as it was very loud and a bit scary because it was about the Loch Ard shipwreck. Unfortunately you aren't allowed to take photos of the actual show but we took these few on the lantern walk through Flagstaff Hill on the way to the show.
Monday Mandy & Tim were both at work so we went for a drive to Port Fairy. We'd been through there many times before but had never actually stopped for a visit.
Then we met Tim at the beach after work for another swim and some more body boarding.
There's nothing better than fish & chips at the beach!
E is actually sulking in this photo because we wouldn't let him catch the big waves!
When Mandy got home from work we went for a walk along the breakwater.
The kids were so tired from such a busy weekend.
Tuesday on the way home we stopped at the Geelong Foreshore for a dip in the pool. We had forgotten how nice it is to swim at an outdoor pool!

Yeah!!! to the Canadian!!!! Doesn't he just stand out in a crowd of Aussies. LOL!!

that picture of e sitting on the boogie board on the beach is absolutely GORGEOUS!! looks like you had an incredible time, what a beautiful place. i am so longing for the beach. amy was at the jersey shore yesterday, seeking out houses for vacation over the summer. i am so dying to get there and get some shots. it's only 40 minutes away, i can go at any time, but it's been so cold, and it's always colder down there. i hope i can get there soon before summer comes and it's wall to wall people. beautiful shots!
