Olympics Day at School

Today was Olympics Day at school. Each grade was allocated a Country and E's grade was Germany. In the morning the whole school participated in an Opening Ceremony. One child from each Country (each grade) was the flag bearer and had to carry their Country's flag onto the stage. 1W's flag bearer was E!!

Here he is telling everyone that they are Germany and handing over the flag.

Each flag was stuck to a board surrounding the Olympic flag.

Then children from Grade 6 carried the torch onto the stage....

and the Olympic flame was lit....

Then during the rest of the day the Children participated in various Olympic themed activities and had a sausage sizzle for lunch.

After lunch it was time for the Closing Ceremony celebrations! Each year level paraded around the hall showing off their medals and uniforms!

Then it was time to celebrate!! Mrs W got E up to dance.... which of course he LOVED!! What is it with him and the spotlight!!!

You can see they are really getting into it!!!
