Gymnastics

You may remember back in 2008 Ella was going to Kindergym.  She absolutely loved it but was always worried if I wasn't within arms reach, so we decided to stop going.  Fast forward to these past school holidays and she had been asking to go back to gymnastics - which didn't surprise me because she's always hanging upside down off something!!  So I found her a beginners gymnastics class for 5-7 year olds in Endeavour Hills.  Her friend Talia decided she wanted to come along so off we went.  This past Tuesday was our second class and everything was going really well and they both seemed to be enjoying it.

Then it was time to get into the foam pit.  There's another little story I need to tell you before I tell you this one.... a few days before Christmas Ella was playing at a friend's house on the trampoline when we (the adults) heard crying - not screaming just crying so we thought as usual someone had bumped something and was coming for a whinge....  well as Ella came around the corner all we could see was blood...  She had been hit in the nose and got her very first blood nose.  It was quite scary for all of us at the time until we worked out where all the blood was coming from and managed to get her calmed down.  So obviously it frightened her (as it did me) and for weeks afterwards she's been quite paranoid about it happening again.  The first few days after it happened she was terrible always worrying what if.  Anyway so back to Tuesday night....  the kids get into the foam pit and everything is still going well.....

.... until the girls had to start falling backwards into the foam.  They were pretending they were trees and the teacher was cutting them down... again all still good until it was Ella's turn.  She fell backwards as she should but then the next girl fell backwards onto Ella and wouldn't you know somehow managed to hit her in the nose.  It did bleed but not very much and certainly nothing like the first blood nose she had but OMG she was hysterical...  

So I think that's the end of gymnastics.  She says she's never going back and she's back to being totally paranoid about getting a blood nose!!  Aaaagggghhhh things were going so well!
