E's 8th Birthday

E was sooo excited about his birthday.... he had so much trouble getting to sleep on Saturday night. He was still awake at 11pm and he'd been in bed since 8pm! No matter how hard he tried he just couldn't get to sleep and he was so desperate to get to sleep so his birthday would arrive!

Ella was first up at 7am and straight away wanted to wake E up but we let him sleep due to the late night and he woke up around 7.45am.

He had a wonderful time opening presents and being the sweet kid that he is even let his sister open some for him. He got a LOT of Ben 10 stuff some of which I had ordered from America since it's not available here and boy was he in heaven!!!

Then after a quick play and special breakfast of croissants (requested by E) we were off to Bowland for some bowling fun with a few friends to celebrate E's birthday. He and Ella are having a combined birthday party at a playcentre in July but we wanted to do something special for his actual birthday.

Putting on those lovely shoes! Ella was supposed to bowl but didn't want to put on the funny shoes!! She's such a little fashion diva!!

We had only been bowling one other time a few years ago, so it was extra exciting to be doing something new. What these photos don't show is E doing a Flintstone's style tiptoe up to the line!! He's such a character!!

Ella had a lovely time playing with her friends who are siblings of the big kids.

We got a used bowling pin for the kids to sign. Everyone was amazed by how heavy it is!

Then the kids had some pizza for lunch.

And cupcakes for dessert!

Happy Birthday to you.....

After bowling we took E, Ella and E's friend Carson to the newly opened Casey RACE. It was the first day that it was open to the public and oh my goodness it was crazy busy, so we weren't there long. The kids didn't care that it was busy - we ended up going back for a swim Monday night and it wasn't too busy. It's a fantastic new centre with 2 enormous water slides, as well various pools, splash park and gym. We all have memberships there so will be spending a lot of time there over the next few years!!

Then it was home for a bit of a rest (it was about 4pm by this stage) before Gran & Pa, Simone, David, Riley and Mikayla arrived for some more presents and birthday dinner.

A wonderful day was had by all. I still can't believe my baby is 8! He's growing up so fast!
